An idiosyncratic hackathon (online + hackathon) that focuses on the development of soft skills along with core coding skills.The evaluation criteria is divided into 3 stages. All the participants are supposed to choose a problem statement revolving around current affairs in different disciplines in order to develop a technically achievable solution (in the form of web apps , websites , android apps , etc.). The participants have to come prepared with a proposal speech of their product . The pitch must contain the problem statement , solution approach , revenue model (if any), UI screenshots , Features & USP in a ppt.The pitch shall be presented in front of a bench of highly experienced industrial experts/influencers for evaluation. The participants will then provide a documented prototype of their idea through Project workflow , use case diagrams , activity diagram and user stories. The remaining time of the hackathon shall be dedicated to the development of the proposed project until the final evaluation. All the participants shall be provided with refreshments periodically , they will also have access to all the food stalls in BU. All the participants shall be provided with yoga mats , neck pillows , bean bags,extension cords and unlimited coffee , for their convenience.

About Event

ROUND 1 :

Participants have to come prepared with a product pitch & a product ppt. The ppt must include a description, problem statement, solution approach, market size, scope of extension, revenue model, tools & technologies, mock interface, and unique differentiating factor,( graphs, charts & flow diagrams are optional)

ROUND 2 :

Submission of build plan: Use case Diagram, flow diagram, UI flow, Data fetch & store plan, project prototype.

ROUND 3 :

Final presentation of the completed product.

Judgement criteria:

Identification of problem statement.

Proposed solution and it’s USP. Credibility.

Team size: 1-5 participants per team.
Hackathon is open to all with no registration fee.

Rules

1. The pitch ppt should contain all the mentioned points.

2. The presentation should not exceed the time limit of 7 minutes.

3. The documented prototype should contain all the specified diagrams and use cases.

4. Participants are requested to focus more on functionality of the project , rather than number of features.

5. Participants will have to submit their id proofs to issue all the convenience essentials and can take it back after returning them to the POC.

6. Medical assistance shall be available at all instances.

Q. What is the Team Structure?
A. A team must consist maximum of 5 members. Members can be from same or different institutions. However, no person may be a part of multiple teams for the same event. This event will be open to all undergraduate students of recognized universities and colleges

Q. Can I participate in other events at I-Cosmic?
A. You are allowed to participate in as many events at I-Cosmic as long as you are able to manage your own schedule.

Q. What should I bring for the event?
A. College ID Cards and receipt of registration are compulsory.

A workshop to show the roadmap to cracking MAANG companies and to convey insights on current industrial trends in the Computer Science department for summarizing the vast topic of CS & IT , as a career. Following the vibe , the event shall comprise of a coding contest : further divided into 4 rounds , each dedicated to polish a characteristic that a coder must embrace. Round 1 shall check the coding ability & logic as the participants must solve a problem statement in the shortest possible way through a code in their desired language . Round 2 is more inclined towards checking the versatility of the coder.Each participant shall be assigned a code , they will have to translate it to another language (from the given options). Round 3 will be used to check the speed & accuracy of the participant.A problem statement shall publicly be shared and each coder will have to code it in the minimum possible time. They should hit the buzzer as soon as they finish the code.Please note that some of the test cases would be hidden and use of any search engine/browser shall not be permitted. Round 4 will test the UI designs of the students.The participants shall be provided with a riddle , which will contain a hidden problem statement and user stories.The participants are needed to come up with the most relevant non coded UI design for the same.Please note that Round 4 is not an eliminating round. The final evaluation shall be done by a bench of highly experienced individuals in the field of Full Stack web development.

About Event

Workshop :

A workshop to show the roadmap to crack MAANG companies and current industrial career trends in the Computer Science department and a training on developing a digital showroom on DotPe. The workshop will be hosted by industry experts with renowned personalities in the technical field.

ROUND 1 :

All the participants will be given a code problem chosen from a question pool. They will be free to code in the language of their choice. This round will test their logical approach to solving a problem.

ROUND 2 :

This round's goal is to assess students' versatility and compatibility with using different programming languages in visual paradigms. Participants will be paired up and given a problem with the target language mentioned. As soon as the first team member finds the solution, their partner receives their code but not the test case or problem statement. The teammate will now need to convert the coding language into a different language (will be mentioned to the participant separately). The output of the original code and the modified code must be the same for all the test cases. Participants are free to choose the task they want to perform. Scores are to be displayed on the leaderboard.

ROUND 3 :

A rapid-fire round to check the speed and accuracy of the participants. It is 1v1. They will be given a buzzer, and the first person to hit it will be the winner if their code is correct. Winner's score shall be raised immediately on the leaderboard.

ROUND 4 :

User requirements will be given in the form of riddles and user stories. The participants will come up with the most suitable design (non coded: design & flow only). They are free to upgrade their UI as they like. Evaluation will be done by Web Developers. Bonus points shall be awarded. Any boost in scores will be updated in the leaderboard ranking.

Judgement criteria:

The one who scores highest points without being eliminated shall be the winner!

1. Only mobile photography is allowed during workshop, rest all the time the usage of mobile phones shall be prohibited.

2. All the content shall be checked for plagiarism. Points shall be deducted according to the intensity of plagiarism.

3. Team size = 1

4. The final score shall depend on the sum of the scores from all the rounds.
